dear sonar enthusiasts,

please kindly check my new recording "rock like hell"

This song has been on my band's setlist for years, but never on the list when we hit the studio...so I decided to do the song justice by recording it in my home studio! any comments are as always greatly appreciated!

no opinions on this?

well, I have an opinion - it needed a change! After re-listening, I decide to remix it. I lowered the vocals a little bit, used a different drum setting and added a bit low end on the mix. I believe it sounds bit better now...

Thanks John! You're keepin it brief and straight to the point - just like the song!

Just some background information: we used this song quite often as an opener for the live show - then, just after a short short break, not much more than a glimpse of the eye - played the next song, another fast, loud, but yet melody-laden song. After that, the tone was pretty much set for the show!

I listened earlier, and again just now... The harmony arrangement is very good, and could come up a bit... JMHO...  I think I like the drums better now...

Dear Tanton,

Thanks for the listening and the comment! I am glad you like the harmony arrangement, because - beside all the loud guitars and big drums - this is what really matters when my band mates and me are writing songs. Our bassist often says that our songs are basically country songs, we are just disguising them with the punk rock outfit!  Who knows - maybe he is right!

I have just uploaded another new and improved version...I fixed the lead vocals for the earlier version was a bit scratchy, and put up the panned rhythms guitars in the chorus a bit for they were missing some edge. This version is up for good!

Love the energy in this song Tom. It moves  along well. The vocals are good. Didn't hear earlier mixes but this one is well done especially if done in a home studio.

Sounds really good.  I like the vocals.  The energy is great.  There is something like a tiny bit overcompressed or too heavy - needs some breathing room.  Maybe it's just the drums, which seem to be at a constant intense level.  But everything is very clearly heard, so the quality isn't suffering.  And the frequency balance is really good - full lows, sparkly highs.  Very nice.

Nice rocker.  Could use some sparkle/air, (you know, just grab the $600 "sparkle-ifyer" VST).  Otherwise cool song with lots of balls.
