The KOMPLETE KONTROL 1.5 software update is the biggest yet. It introduces Native Kontrol Standard™ (NKS™) – a new plug-in format which unlocks KOMPLETE KONTROL so that third-party instruments can access the Light Guide, Smart Play features, and more – with all instrument parameters intelligently mapped. VST support opens the gates to your entire software instrument library. And welcome KOMPLETE KONTROL S88 – a pro keyboard with fully weighted, hammer-action keys. Join the evolution – starts October 27.

That sounds really good but when a 25 key costs $499 what is this going to cost?

$999. Which is stoopid. Who needs 88 weighted keys for electronic stuff. Def not me. And you can get the same Fatar for way less. But. BUT. That NKS news is ... fantastic!

Yeah, the 88 key hammer action was probably the wrong way to go. Now if it would have been a 76 key light synth action it may have replaced my 61 key.

My concern over the NKS is that it will only be available for those 3rd parties that partner up with NI and who knows what that will cost them/us. They have a list of currently committed 3rd party vendors and there was only One that I use.

I am always complaining about the cheap keys on most synth controllers, and since piano is one of my instruments I usually find myself wanting a few more keys, so I like this news!!! This is a dream come true for a pianist or composer who uses the full range of keys on compositions!! I gotta check this one out :)

I am sure a lot of piano players will welcome the 88 note hammer action.

As a more of synth/keyboard guy i don't really want hammer action but I certainly would like 88 keys, or 76 as a minimum. 61 note boards just do not have enough notes, and its not just about instrument range, I have to use a small AKAI mini keyboard for key switches along side my A-PRO 800. I have many Kontakt libraries that need more that 61 keys just to access the instrument range and keyswitches.

If someone Really needs an 88 key weighted action that is true to a Real piano feel then check out the Kawai VPC-1 action. I wouldn't trade mine for any other currently available. It does cost more than the cheap stuff but it is the Real thing less the rest of the piano...

I really liked the look of this. All of the S-Series controllers look amazing with the new software and other plugin makers joining the fun. But the price of these, man, it's too much. Old fashioned and cheaper MIDI keyboards have served mankind nicely for millions of years... I do believe I can make music without these... but... These have idiot proof knobs!!!

For those who don't own Komplete yet, these Kontrol keyboards can actually be a bargain. You get some instruments free and, come the next Summer of Sound, you can get Komplete for $100 or Komplete Ultimate for $350.
As for me, would like a 76-key synth action ...
