Mudgel,
I think I may have  accidentally edited your list.  I didn't expect it to actually happen.  I x'ed in the spaces for the Dreamstation DXI to go back to Sonar 3.  I apologize if this caused any confusion.

... V-Vocal ... was part of the core program from 6PE to X2 (or X3, can't remember)

From Sonar 5PE to X2 apparently.

I didn't either.  Good catch.  I just took what was there and added Platinum, no new line items.  Will update that ...

To be really picky, V-Vocal wasn't a plugin as such - it was part of the core program from 6PE to X2 (or X3, can't remember)

Actually VVocal is a plugin. It's just that it was part of the X2 program installer but not part of the Sonar.exe file. You could however delete all of Sonar X2 and VVocal would still work.

Also haven't seen Drum Replacer, and Vocal Sync which are technically VST 3 plugins even though they are tied to Sonar.

They replaced v vocal with melodyne lite which is a bit more limited than the retail or standalone version.

This discussion is about the history of plugins that were available with different versions of Sonar through the years. Many of us have many versions of Sonar and still make use of the older plugins that came with them.

Melodyne Essential is actually quite capable and is the entry level retail version. Melodyne Essential can also be run standalone as well as a regular plugin or Region Fx using ARA.

VVocal was technology owned by Roland and used by Cakewalk under licence. When the Roland Cakewalk connection was broken so was the right to use VVocal.

I must have missed the standalone version of Melodyne essential. And think the plug-in version is good for quick edits if you record audio into sonar, then I can see it being more useful.

Have updated my comment about V-Vocal in the sheet linked in my OP.

Those are Platinum only, correct?

Going to take a look at the FX plugins list for Platinum today.  I think there a few missing from my sheet, because so many new features have been released. I checked the instruments list, and that seems fine.

This sheet should be complete now as far as legacy plugins for prior versions back to Sonar 3.
