A take for JJ Cale with my neighbor, Rob.

It was a nice night.

A great loss, J.J. Cale, he will be missed, especially his song writing. This is a nice kind of tribute to him, even though you didn't say it was a tribute. I'd try and balance everything out in the mix if you can, the keyboards are a bit out front. Nice song.

Peace and Blessings, John

I took your advice and made a few changes. I think I like it better as you suggested.

See if you can pan each instrument into their own space in the song. Now it sounds like everything is sharing space to close together, and keep the vocals up front in its own space. I'll give you an example: keyboards 25% Left rhythm guitar 45% Right, lead guitar 30% Left and vocals 5% Right. This helps separate everything from being crowded together and overlapping each other in the mix and everything has its own separate space. You can even go out further if you like, but everything should work together in the song .

Peace and Blessings, John

Thanks john, I will take another crack a at it tonight. I personally thought it could use a low shelf on the lead guitar. .. By this mean a cut below one hundred or so.

John, thanks for your encouragement. I took yet another pass and learned some new things. :-) New version is posted if it interests you.

Try playing around with Hi-Pass filters on the guitars and Vocals...
JJ was a great writer and performer... he'll be misseed...

Notnat, I gave it a try increasing the cut at the bottom end for the guitars and vocals. I also put a LP64 and Multiband compressor on the master just messing around.
