When we got to Las Vegas, we needed some (American) bills to be able to have a car financed and I ended up getting the cheapest possible non-smart LG phone and plan. I hated that crappy phone passionately, and used it only for emergencies. I still had my iPhone for everything else - MP3, pictures, Facebook and such.
3 years later, I finally upgraded the dreaded thing. Yesterday we went and got me one of the current cheapest options in smart phones - another LG. I wanted to have my line transferred on my old iPhone, but that wasn't an option apparently.
The phone itself has some very nice features, some of it way ahead of current iPhones (as far as I know) but form a software point of view, it's just so very weird to find myself outside of the Apple box, and to figure out what does why how, and where is everything, and having to download 3rd party software on my computer...
That and having to mess with Google (which I hate as much as some hate Apple). Android, uh?
No iTunes is kind of lame because I still own a couple of iTunes albums that I've yet to replaced with CDs. That being said, I can appreciate having the option of just dragging and dropping everything, pics, music and all, back and forth.
But I miss being able to manage everything from a computers - and there are lots of apps on there which I wish I could get rid of, but can't seem to even if I trash them. I mean games and NBA apps and Nascar and Bacon whatnot - lots of useless stuff. If you know how I can clean up some that junk, please let me know...
Much more annoying than being force-fed a U2 album, if you ask me... :P
