I guess we're all entitled to a few weeks off a year, so I'll be generous and consider this months update to be cakewalk's annual holiday.

On my old system, Start Screen takes some (extra) time to open... so it is still disabled.

yea the start up screen is ok...I don't think experienced Sonarites would use it much, but I'm guessing if I was new to Sonar it would be very helpful.  I did like watching the video with updates.

When it was first added, it was really slow, and I suspect a lot of people have never had it active since. It got significantly quicker quite some time back. It's worth giving it another chance if you haven't tried it for a while (even apart from the new update).

I like the start screen esp being able to store my templates and quickly grab what I want.

The update to the Start screen I'd like to see is the ability to delete songs/projects from the recent list.  If that option is there I've missed it.  I know you can "pin" certain songs at the top, but just for cleanup it would be nice to have this option.

Yes, direct list management would be nice.  In the mean time, there is a tool (scook?) available via the sticky in the Software forum.  It's an ahk script with GUI that lets you selectively delete entries from the list.
 
Right-Click Go Away would be easier

Found a couple of items in the Discover tab that I had missed.
I don't see any controls or options settings for the start screen (other than relaunch) - maybe I'm not looking in the right locations. I could see how this could be annoying to someone loading Sonar multiple times daily - maybe an option to only show once on a given day would be nice.
