I have Sonar Platinum with the latest (July 2017) update.
 
On doing a VST plugins scan, Sonar is picking up a VST2 version of a plugin even though I have a VST3 version available. I have tried deleting the VST2 version leaving the VST3 but then Sonar does not load the plugin.
 
I have checked the path of my VST3 plugins: C:\program files\common files\vst3 as shown in the Preferences, VST settings and everything is correct.
 
I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

Have you checked in C:\program files\common files\vst3, to see if the plugin is there?

Rebooting the computer seems to have done the trick.
