I did a search for the TTSSEQ.INI file and the only one found was in an old Sonar 6 folder under the Calkwalk folder that also holds my current Sonar 7. I thought I uninstalled ver 6 but it left some folders and a few files behind. I wonder if I should move this file to the Sonar 7 folder and remove any folders with Sonar 6.

I don't know a lot about the event viewer but I didn't see anything obvious that pertains for volume.

That's an option, however, I like the TTS-1. Its a multi-timbral, General MIDI synth and has some really good sounds. I use it a lot and I don't have any problems with it holding my settings.

How are you changing the volume; on the TTS-1 or on the MIDI track?

Make sure you don't have more than one track using the same MIDI channel or they will override each other.

Well I am a noob so of course I wasted everyone’s time and feel a little embarrassed. Yes, I had 2 different tracks using the same channel on the TTS-1. I didn't think it would matter but was I ever wrong. Thank you everyone for all your suggestions and help. Now I'll just crawl back under my rock for awhile. At least we can put this thread to rest.

I had this problem. Turns out I had a Midi Track and a Synth Track, and the Sonar console volume slider on the Midi Track was controlling the TSS-1 volume. This is opposite of most of my other synths.
