Yes, I know I have an old version of Sonar and Yes, I have no idea what I am doing...But I am trying to learn..

So.. If you can help me I will be so very grateful. Please? My version of Sonar is set to record at 24 bit 96Khz. My audio device for sure supports it" (Tascam us-18000). That seems to be the format these dudes that will master my songs wants.
Even though I record at 24-96khz the saved audio files show as if they are 16 bit... Well that really bums me out. So I am guessing you have to change the format of how the files are saved? So I found under global options - audio data "File bit depth:" set for 16...
Do I just change that to 24? What should Render Bit Depth be set to?.. I am really, really sad that I have recorded some great stuff with 16 bit files.. I am guessing they are truly 16bit?

Any help is appreciated. I am sorry to be asking some dumb questions but I did not find this anywhere that I could understand.

There are two settings in SONAR, one for the driver and one for the project. Changing the file bit depth will cause the project to record at the correct depth. Usually the render bit depth is set to the same value as the file bit depth.

Yes, what you have recorded so far is really 16bit.
