Hello everyone

http://soundcloud.com/user9603240/ali-price-acid-system

This is my latest track, it's called Acid System, and it's a kind of acid psytrance track. Any feedback or opinions would be much appreciated as I always learn a lot from the good people of this forum. Anyway I hope you like it!

Many thanks

Ali

Whilst I fully appreciate that this is the style it does become somewhat mind-numbingly er repetitive.  Maybe bring the lead a little more prominent and add some more ear candy and perhaps a break even if it just all stops for a bar or half a bar just to stop people from nodding off.

Probably work well in a club.

ULTRABRA
Hei Ali - I took a listen.  In my opinion, I don't think you've got the balance of sounds right - some of the sounds are fighting each other for the same space.   Sounds are not gelling together into a mix as a whole for me.
Curious to know, how are you making the sounds - loops or soft synths or ...?

@Wookies, thanks for your feedback, maybe I'll try to add in a few breaks and things as you say to keep it interesting
@Ultrabra, I am using several soft synths to make the sounds including Battery 3 and Sylenth 1, no loops or anything. I am then mixing them as best as I can through a few different busses in sonar, but to be honest mixing and sound engineering is really not my strongest area.

These would fall in to a backing track area, because of the repetition of everything. You do need to pan each part to their own perspective area in the mix and don't be afraid to spread them out good from each other, there are lots of spaces you can use. And get something happening throught the piece, so it doesn't just sound the same all the way through. This might be a good head nodder in a dance club, but even they mix everything up and add excitement to the mix, so look toward excitement and you just might do well.

Peace and Blessings, John

Thanks for the advice guitarplayer, I will certainly try panning everything to a slightly different position and see if that improves the mix. I might even try to add a few more interesting changes to mix it up a bit as you said.

Thanks for listening guitarplayer and everyone!
