Luckily, we only got tons of rain and not as bad as the initial assessment. However, the lightening and thunderstorms here in FL are some of the most severest I've experienced.....loud & scary enough to make grown man cry (cue for my next blues song).  

Just got back from a camping trip to northern Idaho...smoke everywhere, eyes burning, the moon a strange orange color. No fires in that part of Idaho, though, all that smoke was from fires a hundred miles away in central Washington. 
 
While I was away we had a nasty windstorm here. Only lost an arbor and the large Wisteria that lived on it, but the scary thing is we don't EVER get windstorms here in August. Not ever. Coupled with the bizarre spring and summer - record-breaking heat and drought, no snow in the mountains - and it's easy to imagine that Mother Nature is indeed turning against us. It's the End of Days, I tell ya.

Deja vu of St. Elmo's Fire I tells ya................all over again.  

Normally, when I run through the streets screaming that we've got to get off of this planet, people look at me like I'm somewhat odd. Who looks like they're out of their mind now? Huh? 
 
Yes, I am wearing a full body aluminium foil environment suit. Yes, it's unbelievably hot in here. I may have a few Dr. Who stickers on my suit. I guess that, sometimes, I just want to feel pretty. What does that have to do with answering my question? Okay, so who else looks like they're out of their mind?
 
Mesh, get off this planet. It's for your own good. I'm saying that in a nice, friendly way, not like when those pranksters at NASA try to stuff you into a probe they're sending to slam into an asteroid. By the way, that is not nearly as funny as they seem to think it is.

The problem is (after that last flamethrower incident), most of the inhabitants in other planets have made it very clear that my kind "ain't welcome in their part of da woods".......only these lower species here on earth seem to (outwardly) accept me with open arms.
