Hi-

How the *heck* does she still have that voice at 73? Her Partners album from 2014 features duets with Stevie Wonder, Michael Bublé, Billy Joel, John Legend, John Mayer, Andrea Bocelli, Lionel Richie, Elvis Presley and her son, Jason Gould.

It's as if her voice just doesn't know or care how old she is. It's astonishing to me how good she sounds at her age. I think her voice is one of the wonders of my generation.

"The only recording artist to have a number-one album in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s."

She is amazing to be sure and still is a real belter. It's a gift.

Some singers seems to get to the latter years with voice undiminished. Paul Rodgers for example, as good now at 66 as he was at 19 when he sang Alright Now. Don Henley too.

Hi,

I look at a couple of folks that were very good singers, and they are still going strong, although Peter Hammill has lost his "edge" that used to be very strong. But Roy Harper is still kicking with the best of them ... and for women singers, unfortunately, the only one I can think of these days, is Kate Bush, and she is singing better than ever in my book and she was already exceptional. It also helps that her own material just keeps getting better and better! That "Snow" album is too good and one of the best things I have ever heard.

I think Roy Harper gets by because he doesn't really have a singing voice to start with, he's usually doing that nasally semi-talking thing.

Agree about Kate Bush though, still superb - '50 Words for Snow' is as good as anything she's done. The animated video for 'Among Angels' is brilliantly heartbreaking.

After Pedro posted about it, I had to go back and listen again but it's just a bit too slow in the beginning for summer!

Just listening to Steve Gadd make Kate sound even better is enough for me! Some of the best drumming touches I have ever heard!

I agree Kate Bush still sounds great, but she's in her 50s, so why wouldn't she? Streisand is in her 70s. Apples to oranges, IMO.
