Is it possible to reference user track icons used in older projects to use the most current icons that have bee moved or changed to a new folder?
Older projects always create the old icon folders from the projects date of creation. This means I have multiple folders that contain the same icons.
How / can I reference these icons to use the same ones that are now in new or renamed track icon folders & stop creating these old folders?

Sorry, I don't understand the page reference.

I've always created my user track icon folders in the default-
C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR <Artist, Professional, or Platinum>\Track Icons.

I don't understand how to stop the older projects from generating new folders into the main folder while using the same icons that are already there & contained in the project.

Couldn't find any solution.
Opening then saving older projects generates & adds any of it's original ( in my case old & unwanted) track icons & it's folders  to whichever path it's set to.

I understand now. While I do not use track icons, I believe you will either need to
  • recreate the legacy icon directory tree - this will happen on the fly (as it is now) or to avoid replicating the actual image files use directory junctions to point to the new location or
  • replace the icons based on the new layout
When I add custom stuff to SONAR often times, I use either a custom path in preferences or directory junctions to add the custom folders under the default path. The customization method depends on how the data is added to a project. Some dialogs worlk better with a custom preference setting others work better with junctions. My preference is leaving the defaults untouched and modifying with directory junctions.

Then replacing all the icons over again then deleting the folders generated is the only way to resolve this. Anytime I add, delete, organize or rename any track icon user folder this will happen if different than what is originally saved. Not the end of the world just time consuming, kind of defeats the purpose.

Thanks again for your help & suggestions.
