 *UPDATE*
>>>>>>>>>>>>
07-14-2013:
K here's iTunes mix - including lead-in [ however the 'single' eg 'radio version' will be without extended intro/bumper ]  but I dig the feel of the intro... gives song 'headspace' { also outro tail lead-out } ... lead-in itself is more developed and also simplified ... I'm playing Frere Jaques and Bach Minuet in G major [ transposed to C major for song ] on keyboards along with NOIZE tracks audio sculpture that crescendos with reel tape fast forward/slow to mark point e.g. build/release tension: a friend said it very much reminded him of Radiohead- that's cool- i can live with that ;p - I'm hearing more of a Revolution # 9 thing or at least maybe my inspiration :) it's kinda a foray into subconscious...

          {{{the problem is an inner one}}}

Behold a dawning sun that withers from a falling sky
Beyond the universe and buried under sands of time
A fleeting glimpse of others born into a world I see as nothing more than early graves and lack of honesty...

Please feel my jade...
Please feel my jade...
Please feel my jade...

There are things in me that you will never understand
Across a dark abyss without someone to hold my hand
A river Styx is just the first of many deeper streams that flow beneath my soulless body draining out of me...

Please feel my jade...
Please feel my jade...
Please feel my jade...

All the things you hate and fear
Crawl beneath your skin, my dear
All the things you hate and fear
Crawl beneath your skin, my dear

Watch the clock laugh at the minute and the second hand
Every hour wounds: the last will kill you where you stand.
Hell is just an after-thought up in a Dante's view
Behind the 7th level lies the things (you thought) you'd never do...

Please feel my jade...
Please feel my jade...
Please feel my jade...

All the things you hate and fear
Crawl beneath your skin, my dear
All the things you hate and fear
Crawl beneath your skin, my dear
All the things you hate and fear
Crawl beneath your skin, my dear
All the things you hate and fear
Crawl beneath your skin, my dear
All the things you hate and fear
Crawl beneath your skin, my dear
All the things you hate and fear
Crawl beneath your skin, my dear
All the things you hate and fear
Crawl beneath your skin, my dear...

Leadfoot
Hey I like this! Definitely a lot going on. I tended to like the mellower parts better than the heavier stuff, which is weird for me. I liked the feel of the softer parts. Kinda had an earlier Jane's Addiction vibe going on. As far as the mix, listening on my Focal CMS65's in a treated room, I felt the bass guitar was a little forward. But all in all I think you did a nice job with this. Very cool song! Thanks for sharing it!

Another cool piece from you! Very hypnotic, but enough going on to not be boring. I can hear some eraly nineties here, like Leadfoot noticed, but I believe also some Stone Temple Pilots and Alice in Chains. I am looking forward to the final version!

hey thanks bro - i'm on the fence about the bass too - on some systems that can handle it esp the subs it sounds good but others it seems a tad too present eg cheaper monitors/speakers - but on earbuds it's a warm liquid beefy bass which i like... maybe i can low cut it to drop off around 50 or 100

janes addiction ... sure i can see that. very kewl. ya maybe some of the vocal harms are AICish too.
i'm excited to put the tablas and djembe and other exotic instruments in the intro and the 'jimmy pagey' acoustic guitar parts where Dan is also doing this kinda Paul McCartney-ish bass solo - right before the heavy parts kick in
