  • Yet more troubles - now TTS crashes Sonar

I can't catch a break.

After messing with my external synth which stopped making sound a few weeks back after a decade of service, I decided to go all soft and switch to TTS for what I used the rack synth for. But now TTS crashes Sonar every time I open an instance of it in my project. I don't see an option to reinstall TTS from Command Center. My project has about 20 EastWest instruments in it.

I'm at my wit's end with this thing. I've upgraded Sonar, I've upgrade EW Play, I've tried a million things. I've been messing with this stuff forever now and haven't actually made any music in weeks. Is there any way someone with some diagnostic chops can look at my project or help me troubleshoot?

May I ask which version of Cakewalk Sonar you are using?

Hi.
I don't know if this is still an issue or not, but there was an issue with TTS-1 when using 88.1kHz in a project.
All the best.

TTS-1 crashes SONAR Platinum (latest version) here too. Using 48 kHz. Never use it but was attempting to replicate another user's issues in another thread and got repeated crashes. No help to the OP I realize but he's not alone.

The project is 44.1 KHz, Sonar Platinum, just upgraded from Professional last week.

I had that problem after an update. Did a VST Reset and Rescan (my goto for any plug-in weirdness) and then it loaded fine. Maybe it's coincidence, but maybe not.

I just tried loading via both the insert menu and browser drag-and-drop, and the TTS-1 loaded without drama.

Does it load ok into a new, empty project?

Yes - this was it. A full reset and re-scan took care of the problem for me, and TTS-1 now works fine. However - in the process I lost several plugs associated with the iLok License Manager - even though they show up as active, 1 of 2 activations. Latest version of iLok License Manager. Had to exclude everything licensed under iLOK LM to get the VST scan to proceed.
I'll sort it out separately.
For the OP - saw a recent post where you were concerned about the long time to scan plugins on startup - guessing there is probably a correlation with the issue you are having with TTS-1 and that a reset - rescan could resolve.

@Brando -IIRC some plug-ins require the older version of iLok to work, and there are details on the PACE/iLok site.

People keep mentioning how unusual it is for the long load time, but EastWest has always been this way for me. Each EW VST takes 5-20 seconds to load, and I'm using a couple dozen of them. Been that way for years.

I did a reset and re-scan and added a TTS instance and also an SI-Bass instance, and things were looking up --- for about 15 minutes. Then crash. Loading again as I type this.t
