@taccess - That's an excellent point. you're right, I can't say for sure that the SACM spike is a definite sign that Sonar will crash. So, I spent all day yesterday actually composing in Sonar, giving myself a day off from cow anatomy. Most of the time the network card was disabled, though not all the time. I saw the SACM spike early on, but behold and lo, there was never actually a crash. So hmm, perhaps that is just a coincidence or else a red herring.
I have also learned that I can keep all my EW Play instruments connected, and when I want to export to audio, I don't need to freeze individual tracks, I can do it all at once, as long as I unckeck
fast bounce. Makes the export take 20 minutes, but definitely a worthy trade-off.
So... I'm not going to downgrade Play after all, I'm going to keep my hard-wired keyboard, and I'm going to disable the network card most of the time I'm working in Sonar. Let's see how that goes after a few weeks. I REALLY need to get back to writing music, so I'm taking a break from all this computer stuff.
Thanks everyone!
