Having invested in some new VST software (Forest Kingdom 2) and with the lovely Vocaloid Miriam on holiday (!), I thought I would post here my first two attempts to use the new software - just a bit different to my usual offerings!

This piece features the Raj Nplaim flute which comes from the Hmong people of Laos. Yes, it does sound a bit Celtic! But those Celts did get around!

Hi Shad - Sincere thanks and so pleased you like these forays into the New Age / Ambient genre. Doubly appreciated from a composer and musician of your excellence. There is a small possibility at the moment that Sacred Stone may be the opening piece for a major international pop festival on my little Isle in the Autumn - now wouldn't that be great! We shall see!

Hi Scotty - Sincere thanks and so pleased you like these new pieces. No doubt when Miriam returns from her holidays I will have to write something for her just to keep her quiet - not easy! Forest Kingdom certainly has a lot of interesting sounds and currently I am using its Kiowa Flute to write a new piece. What is odd is that no matter what I write for that Native American Flute, it all sounds Celtic! Perhaps it's just me!

Love the percussion work. Reminds me of a Cirque Du Soleil soundtrack.  Mix sounds great love the space its sitting in really adds depth. KUDOS!

Just as my Native American tune sounds Celtic.

I like it. To me, it sets the mood for some apocalyptic movie scene.

Well done!!!

Hi Rik - Sincere thanks - Yes, the piece is even better with your guitar overlay - love what you did and I have said so on your thread!

Hi Scotty - So all we now need to decide is if the Celts were really Native Americans or if the Native Americans were really Celts! I think my brain hurts!

Hi Kev - Sincere thanks - that bass drum was so powerful I had to really spread the mix very wide to ensure it didn't (totally) overpower everything else. Or perhaps that constant thud in my brain was due to too many beers!

Hi Guitarpima - Sincere thanks and I very much take your point about an apocalyptic movie scene. I suppose I'm a bit late writing this piece now that we have all survived the "end" of the Mayan calender! Oh well, no doubt another apocalypse will turn up soon!
