https://soundcloud.com/je...hes/glassworks-opening An orchestration of a piece for piano by Philip Glass. This is the opening track from his album "Glassworks". Keeping the piano part entire (this is performed in by myself, not sampled from any recording), synthesizers are used to provide a percussion frame for all the sections, and to introduce additional timbres on the piano material. This is an arrangement performed and programmed entirely by Jerald Hughes. For those familiar with Minimalism, I offer my apologies in advance--I realize that this treatment completely subverts the basic aesthetic idea at the core of Minimalism as an approach to music composition. In this realization, I'm just reacting to what I hear as the drama in the chord sequence.

Very nicely done with very good sound production on the entire work. The piano sounds very good and your playing is top notch. Ienjoyed this and it was quite relaxing for me. Very lovely sound. Thanks for sharing.

Peace and blessings, John

I enjoyed this, being a convert to Philip Glass - great production - would be interesting to hear your version of "Rainbow in Curved Air"

nice  tone.   Well done.

I would have liked to hear more variety in the composition. It seemed that the parts were basically repeats albeit with some minor variations.

I recognize this one. I bought the CD when it came out in the 80's. I still like it, I suppose. Minimalism to me is funny stuff, as it never seems to go anywhere.

I like what you did with this one, UMS, the rhythm track and synth parts create more interest, and gives the number some momentum it didn't have.

Cheers,

Bert
