Hi all! Im new to home recording and im using x2. Can you share me your music using stock plug ins in x2 or previous versions. My point is i would like to know/ listen what is the best sounding you can make using stock plug ins. This is because everytime i make one and compare it to songs here i can hear my songs to be so inferior. Im only using stock plug ins i dont have money to buy other plug ins. And i use mostly midi instruments except for vocals. Thanks.

Plugins are not the issue. Trust me, it takes a lot of practice recording and mixing to learn how to do it properly. You need to understand why your mixes aren't working for you. A plugin is meant to solve a particular issue. You can't know what plugin you need until you understand what's wrong (and right) with your mix.
 
For starters, I would suggest keeping your songs simple with just a few instruments and learn to mix those until you are happy with the results. Read. "Mixing Secrets" by Mike Senior is an excellent starting point. You can do a lot just by learning how to use the plugins that come with Sonar. But you have to learn to hear first.

Dan's right. If you have well recorded tracks and everything is mixed well, you're 90% of the way there. Sonar's plugs are very capable. Bill Gibson's also got some good materials on mixing.

There are a few folks here who are really good at the mixing aspect, Dan is one.
 
Also, Tanton, James Yoyo, Timmmmmaaaaaayyyyyy! And some others. 
 
But the mastery on this aspect can make "or break" any production...

Oh and Mr. Markno999 ;-) That man's got the skills to pay the bills :-)

I wouldn't go that far. I'm still learning as well. It wasn't so long ago that my mixes were unsatisfactory.

Theoretically, you should be able to produce a "radio ready" (RR)  mix with nothing but the stock plugs in the Sonar line.
 
There is more to mixing than throwing a few plugins into an FX bin and having a RR mix.  Mixing takes skills that take time to develop. It don't come over night and certainly not by throwing plugs in a bin.
 
I do use a lot of the Cakewalk plugs on my music because I think they sound good. Reverbs and EQ especially.
 
I, like many others here, have also bought some of the higher priced tools because they tend to make the job a bit easier. But, you still need to understand what they are doing and why, and most importantly, where, when and why you need them and also when you don't need them.
 
Feel free to listen to some of the music on my site. Most of the plugs in tracks and busses are Cakewalk plugs.
 
What I suggest is start recording and mixing and post the material in the songs forum and ask for feedback on the mix. There are a bunch of folks here with good ears, who will tell you what they hear and what you need to do to correct any issues.

Thanks for your comment! It inspires me to continue learning more. I did the third one for the purpose of achieving as close as possible with respect to its track volume balance , panning, reverbs etc as a whole in the mixing process but i wasn't able to in my opinion. The second one was my composition and arrangement which was made in our language. The first one was from dave Brubeck which i tried to experiment with my improvisational skill which i just recently learned by then and practice in mixing and mastering learned from reading books, internet and youtube.
