I could not for the life of me get the 64 bit  1.31 version version to work on my windows 10  (64)- computer - no matter what the compatibility mode

but I did get the windows 1.50 version  version to work in windows 7 mode - first try -- of course that was after I spent over an hour trying to install the the 1.31

anyway - it works and I am in windows 10 64 bit

I was able to get the Tranzport running on a new machine with a fresh Windows 10 Pro installation by using the 'Troubleshoot Compatibility' option which I got to by right clicking the Tranzport Win Setup installation file (1.5.0).  I then chose 'Troubleshoot Program' and checked the box for 'The program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won't install or run now'.  No problems after that...

I am running Sonar X1 on Windows 10 version 10.0.15063 Build 15063.
I have tried compatibility mode and I am unable to get the Tranzport to work. When I install the driver and then try to bring it up in the control surfaces menu, Transport shows up with brackets around it and it does not work. Can any body help me? I love my Tranzport and I need to use it during my concerts. If some body finds a workaround, please upload step by step instructions. I am not computer illiterate but I am not familiar with Windows 10 either.

You have to first "Install" the Tranzport (drivers) in a compatibility mode.  DO NOT connect the Tranzport wireless USB adapter first, only attach it AFTER the drivers are installed.  If you connect the adapter first it can fail or Windows can even install an incorrect driver.  I used Win 7 compatibility mode (Vista will work since driver was designed for Vista).  I installed it on both my desktop DAW system and a Laptop, both with Win 10 (the desktop has Win 10 Pro and the Laptop Win 10 Home).

Hey all - on an related topic, since I'm still using my trusty old Tranport on Windows 10...

Anyone know if there is a way to make the PLAY button work as PAUSE?  Right now, play and stop basically do the same thing, where I'd like to have stop be stop and play be pause.  It seems that all of the other keys can be modified, but not the transport keys - the irony here being that the device is called a transport. :)

Anyway, I'd be more likely to use it more and lose my Countour Shuttle, which has its own issues.  I really actually like the transport and forwad/back knob on the PCR800, but it's not very conveniently located or ergonomically efficient, where the Contour sits right next to the mouse.

Gosh - I hate that vendors create great pieces of equipment that last far beyond the software they made to support hem -especially when I imagine that it is pretty easy to update these things for the few things that would make them so much better:

Tranzport - customizable transport buttons
Countour Shuttle - customizable ring/wheel (for beats instead of measures) - used to have a plugin, now does not (as of the whole 8.5 departure), so all settings are in some outside Sonar Global app to control it in other applications where I never use the thing and when Sonar loses focus, it doesn't work at all.
PCR-800 - with Windows 10 drivers without having to resort to a series of developer mode driver hacks to get it installed at all

And so many others.  Can't they just open this stuff up to open source if they are not interested in maintaining it?
