Thanks for the help to everyone. I really appreciate it.

Is anybody here using a Firewire connection with windows as their primary connection for Cakewalk?

Thanks

I use my Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP (firewire) with my laptop (an ASUS) via thunderbolt with an adapter for mobile/remote purposes.  The Saffire works well and is solid, never had a problem.

Kind regards,

Focusrite Scarlett 6i6.  I also have a Line 6 Pod Studio UX2.  The Scarlett is fine except on the rare occasion when I want to track my cheapo electric guitar.  I have to swap out the Scarlett for the UX2 to avoid an electrical hum.

RME UCX.  Excellent, bulletproof interface. It's never glitched on me even once in several years of daily use.

Maybe I'm old school, but I've been using an M-Audio 1010LT PCI card for years now. I've got a Cakewalk VS20 for use on that rare occasion when I use a laptop.

I haul mine around all the time. Small is a plus.

Rme ucx.

Idk if i wouldn't get a ufx next time though. I've had the ucx 6+ years.

Made lots of great recordings and more memories.

I still use my trusty old Fireface 400 (bought in 2007) + Digimax D8 on Windows LTSB and the latest RME drivers.
If I can get the DAW-control thing working with CbB/Sonar/Mixbus I´ll probably switch to my Allen Heath SQ-5.

I had one of those for almost 10 years and was quite satisfied with it.
All the best.

Still using my Cakewalk VS-100. Still working well. Pre-amps on it have a small bit of noise, but there are some ways around that. It has been very good to me over the years.

I'm still using and am happy with my Roland Octacapture. So far no issues under Windows 10.

I’ve been using the Waves DIGIGRID IOS and couldn’t be happier.
