I'm glad to see so many enjoyed it as much as I did.
I still think Ava made the decision about Caleb's fate when she was interviewing him.
The idea that she was simply a machine with a single directive makes as much sense as anything except...she didn't want just to escape. She wanted to see and be around people. I'm not sure that was part of the programming.

I've been reading other theories that believe Caleb was AI. I thought the scene in front of the mirror took that possibility away, but there are some interesting reasons to consider it.
This movie is a gift that keeps on giving for sure.

I'll add more when I get to watch the whole thing. Right now I need to clean up any ideas and thoughts anyone has about it all, so I can watch it without inner interruptions, that will allow me to see inside myself and write my reactions.
 
It's an interesting concept and idea. I do think it is a harsh mistake to think, and consider that it will respond like a child or a human would. We have no way of evaluating, or judging, how it will function on its own, and how much is influenced and how much is not.
 
I am not sure this will ever be done, since we can't even do this to our own children, and now expect to do it to an AI! Like a child, or you or I, are not AI's to begin with ... with have been all along!

I wonder if the robots will need to develop A.S. to get along with most humans...

I'm just sick and tired of the idea of us replicating ourselves, as one of the most sadistic and malicious ideas of all times. The whole thing is so ego centered it is even more scary ... here comes the superficial better race in the world ... and I guarantee you that you and I will fight to the death against it!
