Maybe Linux? Hard to say, really. I've checked back with Linux every few years since 1995 and it still looks like a big mess to me.

Linux is definitely in my future. I'm using Zorin more and more. It's very similar to Windows 7, a real joy to use. I'm going to experiment with Rosegarden one of these days. When W7 is no longer supported, I plan to move fully over to Linux. I would love to stay with sonar, but it seems unlikely that will be possible.

What I find scary, is the part you guys don't discuss ... that means your OWN WORK is at risk to be stolen, and no one here is saying anything! All you have to do is use Word, Excel, Outlook (even for an email!) and One Note, and you will automatically no longer own the rights to it. Pretty soon, you spend 30 days putting a song together, send it as an attachment from Outlook, and you find your song licensed somewhere else owned by Microsoft ... all because you used their program "for free" .. therefore ... !!!! eat it!

That's why I have copyrighted all music I post online.

Those who did an upgrade go into windows event viewer, clear all your logs. Reboot, go to windows event viewer. Count now many red items there are after you booted :) Curse yourself that you didn't do a clean install....

I take it all back. Do it with a clean install as well !

Hi,

Not all information on the Event Viewer was correct. It continuously ignored my F-Secure information, and in essence, it was forcing me to setup that online drive thing, which I refuse to use.

I have, as far as I know and found, turned off all the possible connections to the outside on the one machine. I really find many of them abusive and should not be allowed, but this is Microsoft's kick ... you got it for free, and that means I can do what I want, and the consumer is a rat!
