Cmusic Production has announced the release of theSAXBAND Soprano Saxophone library for Kontakt 5.
SAXBAND Soprano Saxophone library allows you to realistically imitate virtually any tune that a real saxophone could play. It was recorded using Mid-side technology with multiple articulations and production techniques to create the impression of a live performance.
CMP recorded all intervals for up and down articulations in three variants: normal Legato,Portamento and Glissando. They have provided the ability to vary the dynamics of the instrument to convey a wide, detailed range of expression from pp to ff. Natural and LFO vibrato may be added to the sound at any time. SustainStaccato and Marcato articulations provide added realism by means of a 3-x round-robin algorithm.
Details:
  • Legato, Portamento, Glissando Velocity control.
  • 3-x round robin sustain non vibrato for each note (5 layers).
  • 3-x round robin sustain vibrato for each note (4 layers).
  • 3-x round robin staccato (4 layers).
  • 2-x round robin marcato short and long (4 layers).
  • 2/4 and 4/4 tempo sync swells (120 BPM default, 2 layers).
  • Rips short, medium and long (3 layers).
  • Runs octave up minor/major tempo sync (120 BPM default).
  • Ornament minor/major tempo sync (120 BPM default).
  • 6 286 samples, 44.1/24-bit samples.
Price: $99.

Haven't checked this out yet (blocked site at work), but what are some of the best Sax libraries out there for Kontakt?
A good saxophone library is something I don't have and would love to have.....(I should check out my KH Diamond Collection.....).

If you have KH Diamond there would have to be good Sax Samples there...

Just remember...always practice Safe Sax!!!

Sadly, I haven't been practicing much safety.

Guess I've been an experimental Bassoon all this time, and just freely sampling everything that's in Kontakt.

Don't forget, if you have K10U you have the Baritone, Alto, and Tenor in Session Horns Pro
under "Single Instruments"

I'm still on K9......the K10U or 11 will have to wait until next summer. For now, I'll definitely will checkout my KHS library and see what I can use. I'd love to use a good (safe) sax library (with Midi Guitar) to solo on some tracks.

Although not a Kontakt instrument any more, Sample Modeling - The Sax Brothers is my go to sax library.
Very realistic to play solos.

I played E Flat Alto Sax in Elementary School....many moons pass...but I still remember my notes and fingerings..
And I haven't touched a Sax in at least 40 years...that's pretty crazy that I can STILL remember all that...
YIKES...

I have the Sample Modeling SWAM - The Saxophones and it is very good but a breath controller is almost a must and there was a learning curve to develop the right technique to make them sound right.

My goto is Chris Hein Horns Vol. 1 Solo saxes. I was able to use them as soon as I loaded them. I did spend some time tweaking but I think we all do.

Unfortunately both of the above are a little pricey but CHH usually has a heavily discounted sale a couple times a year.

Thanks Rick.
I've heard very good things about CHH libraries, but never got the chance  to purchase.......I'm off to buy a lotto ticket...........
