thanks man....
i'm glad you got to hear this one, it's a bit different...
a direction i think i want to explore more....
a lot of close mic technique employed on this one, it was harder to get the tones right, because the close mic demands such a limited range of motion while playing..
you can't move!!!
at all!!
if you do, you hear every little movement....
so, it's hard to sit still when you squirm all the time like i do....
i had to find a sitting position on the acoustics, set the mic, and literally go stiff in position, because any lateral movement at all, and the eq of the mic would just go to he77

LOL

i've thought about picking up a dobro,  i think i'll put the feelers out for real......

thanks again!

thanks for listening...
this is a real drummer...
Brent Dacus, out of D/FW
he's a degreed dude, does gig stew in that area....
the guy that recorded the drums is mike musgrove, another artist in that area.....
brent played along with my demo, mike captured it and sent it to me, and i began from scratch with the new drum tracks.

that was a great set of tracks i got from brent, i built an entire album (now out of print) around his drum tracks.
"Bat's Brew", another one i recently posted, was another of these songs.

thanks for mentioning the vox....

that's what i work on the most, the other stuff is easy, mostly one-off stuff, but the vox kick my butt, and i'm my own worst critic!

Gonzo, Nice mix of instrumentation and great vocals as usual. Yes, the batsbrew is brewing it all up again. Great sound and production.

Peace and blessings, John

I really enjoyed this Batsbrew.  I like all of it.  Vocals really good.  The drums really kick.  Toms are so full.  I love your playing (always have).  Bass guitar sounds a bit shy in my cans.  The kick pumps really nice.

All the best.

wow. very cool song - and I almost missed it! I don't know 'bout you, but I do not have the time to check out every song posted - so thanks to those who have bumped it up again!

I especially love the vocal harmonies, this is what separates "good  tracks" from "excellent tracks"! so this is a kilkler!

thanks man, it's nice working with real drums i tell you....
i'd love to remix this with a fatter low end, i'll look at that bass tone closer, i'm sure i can dial it in better.

Love everything about this tune, bat. Drums sound great, as usual. Nice how you managed multiple guitars right up front without getting in each others' way or stepping on the vocal, and a very nice contrast between the acoustic and electric guitars. But it's the tight, well-balanced vocal harmonies that really set the piece apart. Not so much Zep as CSN&Y meet the Swampers.

Love it.  Production is great.  Almost sounds like a lost track from LZ III, esp. the slide.  And that is a compliment.
