Of all the old timers, none of them, is as strong today as they were when they were young.

Why would you expect them to be? Are you? They're just people, not super-beings.

I'm pretty sure I smell stronger today than when I was young.

I love LZ's albums all the way to the last one. Some great things, and they were well done. Their bootlegs, specially 1969/1970/1971 up to Bonzo's Birthday Party, were all magnificent. The quality of the recording was not very good, but the energy was amazing, and you really wanted to be there to feel it!

That feeling, and energy is gone! I'm not sure that ... the feeling could only be done when you are 25 and picking out/up all the groupies that you can ... and that later in life you lose the ability to express your physical expression ... are you so bored with doing it, that you don't care anymore and then you have to write "meaningful songs", instead of being honest with yourself ... which the band's music was!

To me that's the main problem with music today ... it's lacking the honesty and the physical behind it. It's a partial product.

So, Jimmy can only sit and write a piece of music that means nothing to him anymore? That he has to go back in time to find himself? Something's wrong with that ... seriously wrong!

Well, about a week ago, remasters of Coda, In Through The Out Door, Physical Graffiti and Presence were released.  I'm currently listening to Coda since I'd heard that there's about 16 unreleased tracks included - and, so far, it RAWKS!  Check it out for yourself:

I saw Page live around 88 or so. I remember thinking the album he had out at the time (Outrider?) was a bit crap, but it was still a treat for this 15 year old to see him rocking out on stage. He looked as high as a kite but his playing was totally on form - it wasn't the songs we were there for, it was his riffing and soloing, and we weren't disappointed.
