Native Instruments support pages are woefully inadequate when it comes to answering this question:

My library hard drive failed so I have to reinstall my Komplete 7 libraries on a different drive.  Anyone had to do this before?  I have the installation disks ready to try cherry picking the libraries from them, but after reading through the somewhat related links I found just searching on the web, I'm wondering if a full uninstall/reinstall would be cleaner?

Run your installer and select the library's only, don't install the programs. Put them where you want them then open the programs and tell each where the libraries are. Easy as can be.

Thanks for the quick note, BAssDaddy.  I put in the installation disc and chose "Modify" in the menu, etc., etc., and...voila - I get a Fatal Error message noting that my hard drive no longer exists.  It's looking to reinstall the library on the hard drive that crashed, so I can't quite load it there!  I've sent another note to NI, but haven't heard back from the first one so I'll have to find something else to do, in the mean time.

I haven't looked at a K7 disk for a while but instead of modify choose install but don't check the programs, just check the libraries you want to install. Install them where you want. Once done open the standalone programs and set your paths from there.

Hi, BassDaddy -

Unfortunately, the options are Uninstall or Modify.  Still no word from NI, so I'm thinking I'm going to need to go with Plan A - the full uninstall/reinstall.  PITA.

That's too bad, it will take a while.

Are those the options from the install program on the disk, or from Control Panel?

Didi you get a new disk? If so, you can give it the same letter (e.g. D:/) and it will probably work.

Bob Bone, the instructions were from install disk #1.  I've since located all the hidden files I needed to ensure a complete wipe of the previous installation and started over.  Everything is catatonic now.  Thanks to all for the input.
