And Tom, exactly....it's all about having some fun at Buddy's expense. If I was working for a band leader who ripped me like that at intermission, I would have gone out of my way the next set to burn that bridge in a glorious fashion and laugh heartily the whole time.
I don't care who you are - that kind of abuse has no place in a professional environment. Demanding and firm is fine. Zappa didn't let people slack off, but he didn't scream at 'em either. Raging lunacy and threats are something else altogether
But....at least we can get a good laugh out of it, right?
