Yes I have an electric violin and an electrified acoustic violin. His sounds like ass.
So that's why you post here just like the rest of us............
What a nasty piece of work you are.
Thanks Steve, you've shown your true colors once again, brilliant!!
That violin player is out there doing his best, no reason to try and chastise anyone for trying ever, yeah you can critique them, but saying they sound like *** Is not cool I don't care who you are, and might I point out the violin player was not the one who made the recording.
Have a nice day!!
I stand by what I said.
There are a few guys and gals on this forum who really know what they're talking about. And more importantly, they can also deliver the goods. You need to understand that when these people suggest things and offer their opinion, it actually counts for something.
And I'd unreservedly put Scott in that group. Not only is the guy a seriously talented performer on a number of instruments, he also knows how to record them properly and make them sound good. Therefore, his opinions matter.
What he certainly doesn't deserve is your off-handed sarcasm. Not that, I'm sure, he's going to lose any sleep worrying about it.
In other words you dismiss me because you know all about how good I can play, what I play music wise and so forth eh?? I'm not holding my breath waiting on your approval let me say that much.
What?
I didn't "dismiss you because of how good you can play" or "what you play music wise".
I intimated that you were a "nasty piece of work".
And as I said above with reference to your comment, I stand by that.
Why can they deliver the goods? Because you like what they do? Does that make them better because they have a different choice of notes in their songs or something YOU approve of??
Don't be so bloody childish.
Why does anyone accept someone else's opinions or criticism? Why does anyone decide that someone else is the right person to teach them something? You obviously don't know, so I'll explain it to you. You accept these things because you realise that they have something to say that's worth listening to, and learning from.
Whether you like something or not is completely irrelevant. I don't much care for ballet, but I have the greatest respect for those that perform it. Furthermore, I would assume that anybody who's talented at practicing ballet might just be someone who'd know quite a lot about it.
And you dismiss me and everyone else here with that reply, you don't know me at all, you have no idea what I am capable of in the past/present or future, who decided you are the one to be judge jury and executioner?? This isn't THE VOICE or AMERICAN IDOL ya know.
I didn't "dismiss" you at all. I called you out for an unnecessary and puerile comment you made toward someone who really can talk the talk
and walk the walk when it comes to the violin.
I liked you much better when you realized you were just like the rest of us posting songs looking for advice, I hope that mantle you've placed your awards on holds up good because it's going to collect a lot of dust in the near future with that attitude.
You are kidding, right?
Virtually everyone who posts songs in here is
craving constructive criticism. Learning from our peers is one of the nicest (and most productive) ways of improving our techniques.
And that goes for me as much as the next guy. I
want my mixes taken apart by some of the genuinely talented contributors who frequent this forum. This is how we learn and progress.
The scything irony of your comment is that you are probably the worst person here when it comes to accepting advice. Instead of graciously taking on board any help and advice that's offered to you, and acting upon it to improve your mixes, you fly off the handle at the slightest perceived hint of criticism. And then you sulk like a five year old and take down the very song you posted for advice in the first place. It's pathetic.
I do want to thank you, I don't know it all and I"ll be the first to admit it, but I will never fault anyone for trying or giving advice, as for trying we are all creative in many ways and just because you don't like something doesn't mean somebody else will not, and if they don't then what's it to you anyway? Anyone pouring their heart out there for trying should be applauded because that's what a lot of us do here on these forums with our songs all the time.
I don't understand what relevance this comment has with regard to this thread.
Last thing we need is someone saying "SOUNDS LIKE A&&".....
Why not? Scott's entitled to his opinion, and as I've outlined above, his opinion on the sound of a violin is something I trust.
Attitudes and Ego's, The very reason I got out of music 25 years or so ago. But not this time.
Who's even suggested that you "should get out of music"?
Where on earth did that come from?
Your a great musician according to my ears Steve, And regardless of whether you want to admit it or not you helped me out tremendously on a lot of things, I can't thank you enough, it REALLY NO KIDDING CHANGED EVERYTHING FOR ME!! I know what you are saying with your reply, but people have dreams and that's what drives their creativity, any reply saying they stink or sound like crap is NOT COOL!! You DIDN'T SAY THAT ABOUT ME A FEW YEARS AGO, even though I actually did, and I've learned a lot more since then, had you have said that about me I probably would have just quite altogether. I have a lot to thank you for. I'm just being honest here.
So what you're trying to say is that everyone should just say nice things about everyone else's songs?
Apart from the obvious enjoyment of sharing our songs with others, the whole
raison d'etre of this place is to invite comments and critiques so that we can learn from the replies and try to improve.
There have been a lot of people WHO HAVE ACTED like me on here while I have stayed away for some time now. I guess it's probably best I stay away again.
And what a surprise - here you go with the "I'm out of here" crap yet again. How many times have you left "for good" before?
Stop acting like a spoilt brat and maybe realise that there is a proverbial wealth of friendly, free knowledge here just waiting to be tapped into.
Your a great musician Steve, and Scotty, but don't judge a book by it's cover and start comparing it to other stories until you've heard the end of the story. Main thing is, like I said yeah it was a rough recording, but that wasn't the point James was making here, he was saying you are great Scotty and this might be worth a try, it seems to be working for this person, we are all here talking about it, it's getting TONS of clicks on You Tube........
Either way, Peace everyone!! Wish you the best ALWAYS!!
Have a nice day!!
Bobby - THE REAL BOBBY NOT THOSE FAKE ONES, I HAVE NOT BEEN ON HERE FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS NOW......
Welcome back.
