You are indeed a (lovably) wacky one Shawn but this does seem like more of a Feature Request as opposed to Coffee House subject. Probably would have been better getting moved there if it needed movin'. Not one to question mod actions though.

I know I have problems hooking into all sorts of stuff with my cursor and have brought it up often. This one never reall got me but I use a fancy trackball. I'd be losing my shiz if I had to work Sonar with a mouse (hate those bloody things).

Best to ya.

Which trackball is it (I have little use for traditional mice as well)?  I have a Logitech M570 Cordless and it's great, but I had one actually wear out recently and had to get another.  It started grabbing and releasing on the left click when I didn't want it to.

Great price, too. About $33 at Anorama Camera via NewEgg.

I use a Kensington Expert Mouse. It's a big old arcade style trackball with four huge buttons and a "scrollring" that surrounds the ball. It's awesome but mine is ooooold and the scrollring doesn't work anymore.

They are really expensive though. Like $100 but for editing and finite control of stuff like effect parameters it's brilliant. Much easier on my gimpy hands and it's great when I'm tracking because it's easy to just reach out and move the cursor where I want/smack one of the huge buttons.

It's not for everyone though. A lot of people have gotten really messed up and didn't know what to do when they saddle up to my systems.... but in a lot of ways that's kind of a bonus too. Lol... don't touch my shiz!!!

I have been accused of making silly posts in the past but this is a legit concern, anyone else feel me on this??? Craig Anderton? Chewie Wookie? A Beautiful Virus (Daren)? Craig Hendershot??? -S :0

Speaking on behalf of all Craigs here, it's Greg Hendershott.

I looked your trackball up on NewEgg. Someone there has one for $65.  The link:

I have a Kensington on my older computer.  It's got the center-style trackball and it works well, but I think I prefer the thumb-style.  My wife loves the old (and out-of-production) Microsoft Trackball.  We've got about seven of them around the house because we bought them up when we realized they weren't made anymore.  We did get Win7 drivers for them (and I hope for her sake the drivers will work with Win10).

agree you'd do better without these thread titles, one can write away the frustration in the thread text 'THIS TOTALLY PISSES ME OFF !!' or something if that helps.

Have you tried clickin the track view then hit 'Shift-F' ? (Fit to Window).
Hoping then you can select a track and make it higher...

good luck anyway.

I've got at least three Kensington Expert Mice.  They were my little secret when I played online games (I ran Quake I, Half-Life and Counterstrike servers).  I was pwning punks half my age and younger!

Albeit Shawn likes a flair for the dramatic and therefore usually gets everyone's knickers in a wad, this sounds like a feature request.

Oh, yeah... they are great for FPS games. I could not imagine trying snipe with a mouse. Ugh.

And although $65 is a good deal I'd probably have to snag one locally in Canuckerstan because trying to get stuff from the US is just too messed up. Ends up costing more most of the time and a wicked pain.

My old creaker does alright and I have a spare base somewhere that I may be able to refurbish/raid for parts if it comes to that.

The scrollwheel thing is the real pisser though. Probably just corrosion so maybe some good contact cleaner will help. Can't be arsed though and don't want to ruin this one since it still mostly works.
