I've had this problem in some other apps and web pages (Hotmail comes to mind) where the divider seems to be only a pixel or two wide, but the sweet spot between SONAR tracks seems reasonably wide to me.
And there's always Alt+scroll wheel in the clips pane to zoom vertically.
