Hi all,

Any suggestions for rhythm guitar (I think the term is "Chunk") sounds. Something like a ZZ Top rhythm is what I have in mind.
I'm currently using Rapture "Acid Guitar Pwr Chord" and messing with the parameters to arrive at a semblance of what I need. I also do some further EQ tweaking in the PRO Channel. I'm wondering if there is something else I might use.
(I hope I'm expressing myself correctly here.)

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Ray

I'm thinking maybe give the 15 day trial of the full version of STUM GS-2 a go.  That may have some usable chugs

At the moment, it's 50% off

The difficulty is "good".
I have never heard a vst-guitar that sounds like a real guitar. The note that it has to be "good" is the problem.
I searched a long time as well for a good plugin without success. Now I have bought a Les Paul.
If it is your requirement that the guitar has to sound "like a real guitar", then - in my opinion - there is no plugin in the world. Everything sounds like plastic.

I agree.
There is no faking a good guitar part.
STRUM will get you close but if a real guitar is avail, use that instead.

I've been using "Ministry of Rock 2" from EastWest Sounds. You can run it through some of the effects chains Craig Anderton has created for CW SPLAT and get a pretty convincing result. I did their Composer Cloud subscription just for this set. All the sounds on this piece are EW.

As a guitar player I don´t like simulations,
but a friend uses the musiclab RealLPC
running with amplitube 3 or th 3 and is getting a nearly acceptable sound.

You can demo it.

All of the above are good suggestions. I will also throw in Virtual Guitarist

Iron and Sparkle are pretty good. I have Silk and Amber but I've yet to give them a real go.

On any of them, are you using a palm mute articulation to get the 'chunk'? Or?

Thank you all for your input.
I will check them out, although I think Strum isn't suitable since I only see Ac Guitar emulations (which are astounding in many ways).
Thank you for taking your time.

Strum GS-2 does indeed have electric crunch banks
