OK, I've got to admit that I'm still trying to get over yorolpal's "Banana Bike". Left me in one heck of a nostalgia daze, for sure! But I'm thinking, what is the best song title ever? You know, a great title that perfectly fits the song and artists and time and place?

Here's my vote. Also, what I'm listening to at this very moment.

Free Form Funkified Filth

by Carlos Santana and Buddy Miles, from the "Live!" album, from the concert of "Energy For The Universe, From The Center Of A Volcano" recorded in Diamond Head Crater on January 0, 1972. [That's NOT a typo. That's direct from the liner notes.]

My dogs are looking at me funny.

"What happened to your hips, dad?"

"They come loose from the rest of your body?"

"Should we call the vet?"

What Lovers Do

Let me live 'neath your spell
Do do that voodoo that you do so well
'Cause you do something to me
That nobody else could do

Wail...my country tune's titles tend to be exemplified by true country touchstones...like trains, trucks, beer, prison and momma. But my completely delusional side always wants to both push boundaries and provide too much detail so for myself I'll toss in, "Who Taught You How To Wipe Your Ass...Was It Mamma?"

But for sheer irony let me proffer "Funk 49" which, while a great rocking tune, was about as funky as an ice cream social at Pat Robertson's house.

In Joe Walsh's defense...he was blotto the entire time he was in the James Gang...and most of the time in the Eagles.

I figure it had something to do with the classic "99 bottles of beer on the wall". 48 bottles for the James Gang and 49 bottles for Rides Again.

All good so far!

Although an album title and not a song title, I'll also add the following from Spooky Tooth in 1973:

You Broke My Heart So I Busted Your Jaw

[Note: This one is still personal. In fact, it's the way I'm feeling at the moment. Got a text from my ex after more than 3 years...a photo of my ex-stepson getting married. No text. No name of the bride. No nada. Just a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. So I'm really feeling this one.]
