Before I go into bass/drum sessions (I use a different studio) I always make all the tracks, scratch or main keys, acoustic guitar, vocals, tempo map, and the designated tracks for the bass and drums. I also of course need a metronome. All is fine - until - the drummer wants plus 6db volume and a different tone. I go into the metronome, reset it, and when I go back into track recording mode the metronome no longer works.  I then have to hurriedly make a midi metronome with the TTS or my external keyboard. What is that?

I believe if you toggle " Global FX " it will remedy the situation.
(Keyboard shortcut = Press "E").

Chuck Jones --it worked. Thank you. Terrible to have a client and two session musicians twiddling their thumbs while the inept engineer manually makes a metronome on 6 songs. I really appreciate it.

This has been a known issue for a while now. I believe it has something to do with the way the metronome is bused. Why toggling the Global FX button fixes it ? I don't know. but at least you have a fix if it ever happens again in the future.
