My set is class compliant, and didn't need any drivers-
In SONAR, I just selected it (DM6) as an input/output device in MIDI settings, and I was good to go.
Easy sailing
Both AD2 and SD2 has easy setup for different types of e-drums (Alesis, Roland etc).
I don't remember id Session Drummer was the same..
I will check, and report back.

Thanks Ken.  I was looking at a device called the Millenium MD-90 which is a 7 pad all in one unit.  It's about 110 / 112 in US dollars and has midi ports.    Next step up is an actual electronic drum kit also by Millenium.  The HD-50 but this is usb only  and is about 180 US.   Hence my concern about usb devices.

If I were to buy another, I'd go USB again
I think you would be better of getting as good a kit as you can afford.

Thanks Ken for all the tips bro.   Really appreciate it.   I might keep saving and maybe get the full drum kit.   Its a basic set (you can google it ) suitable for a beginner.

I just did a quick check, and both Session Drummer and SI Drums responded correctly to my DM-6 kit pieces.
(I would think that it would be the case with other E-drums as well)
I would definitively go for the HD-50, compared to the MD-90, just for the playing feeling alone.
