I wonder if this is an issue when using Z3TA+2 v2.2 at 96 kHz (???) but I get sound dropping out every few seconds.

It is not a usual drop-out due to buffer size (changing ASIO settings does not fix it).
It is not the audio engine stopping (because it comes back by itself after 2 seconds).
It happens in standalone version, Platinum and X3.

None other synth does anything like this (neither did Z3TA+2 v2.1, nor does the new Rapture Pro).

Anybody else getting this???

Which host are you using?

edit: never mind, I see it in your signature. That all looks pretty reasonable... Does this happen in Platinum with just one instance? Or are you working in a project with many instances?

edit again: never mind, I can see you tried the micro host and even that drops out. That's bizarre, since that program is pretty low key. Does this happen with any preset? Or just certain presets?

THIRD EDIT:
Sorry about these. What you're describing sounds like our authorization protection; are you dropping out, or are you just randomly getting silence? We do that when the synth isn't authorized (you can verify you've been authorized by clicking the Z2 logo in the top left and looking at the about screen; your serial number should be displayed.) We also prevent you from saving your own presets, so if you can't do this (a window pops up and says you can't) then that's the root issue.

Now, as for why you aren't authed, I believe several users were running into those kinds of issues. If you can verify that it is the authorization we can start from there.

Hi. Thanks for the feedback. I'm away from my DAW and will check as soon as I get back ...

According to your description it's probably "random silence" as I don't register anything performance-wise - it appears pretty regular and in all patches.

Could be an authorization issue (never thought that this could be causing it; I would have rather preferred a pop-up). I did install via CCC but disconnected the DAW from www before starting Z3TA the 1st time...

Yeah, unfortunately not being connected to the internet would do it. We're looking into ways to do offline authorization, so we may have an update for that soon, but for now you'll need to instantiate the synth while connected to the internet.

We do show a popup every five minutes or so, so if you haven't seen that the there's an issue there... but we also do the periodic silence and prevent you from saving your own presets.

Thanks for helping. I reinstalled using CCC and stayed connected until after I launced and this seems to have cured it. Played around a bit with Z3TA inside Platinum and the troubles I had are gone.

(Interestingly both Z3TA and RapturePro don't exit properly when used in standalone mode with the VS700. They remain in the task manager and cannot be killed; thus requiring a reboot ... however, I always use them via Sonar, so I don't really care)

How will we know when this is done?
