Well... the weather is certainly getting wackier and something weird is going to happen but Yahoo news is utter garbage. Better off finding the source material they used (if it was even cited) and reading that or if that is too dry (science stuff usually is) then hunting down the publishing journal or more reputable news outlets covering the study.
Essentially garbage clickbait... even if they occasionally experience brief moments of broken clock syndrome.
But really... how many times in a year (nay, MONTH, NAY... WEEK!) do we hear conflicting bullpuckey about our dire fate at the hands of ole mommy nature? No doubts we are in for some kind of meteorological thrashings sooner rather than later but it's become such a charged debate/subject (for the most ridiculous reason possible... politics) it's much better to either ignore it all, brace for the worst/hope for the best or learn how to crunch the raw data yourself (and ain't nobody got time for dat).
You're up here in Canuckerland with me though so I'm sure you have noticed some very significant differences in the past decade. I think our friends south of the border don't notice it as much seeing as how most of their country doesn't experience the extremes we do but then again when Texas is getting snow and various other weird crap then maybe it sticks out even more.
All I know is last winter I got CRUSHED by the ridiculous amount of snow (not the winter that just passed... the one before that). This year the winter was reasonably dry/not as much snow but the spring and now even summer has been WET WET WET. As a cripple these types of things are extremely problematic and I have been in a lot of pain the past few months. Total piss of. Glad it's getting dryer now but it's also hot as f*ckballs at the moment.
My point is... yahoo sucks.
