Count me as one of those who would love a constant winter. Cold temperatures are great because you can always put more clothes on to keep warm. When it's hot and you're down to your bare skin and it's still too hot, that sucks.

Actually I can cope with hot temperatures as long as I'm in the shade. As soon as I walk into the sunshine I just get that feeling that I'm being slowly cooked, it feels like 20 degrees hotter and the rays feel all prickly. I've never understood people who actively seek to sit in direct sunshine all day. Being out on the open water on a boat with no shade, yikes. Way too hot, like being in an oven. I've noticed more and more people carrying umbrellas on summer days here in New York. It used to be that you'd only see little old Chinese ladies doing it but I guess people are starting to realize that it's not such a bad idea, and if there's one place where you can do something that looks kinda ridiculous without anyone caring, it's New York City. Instant shade, wherever you go!

I feel all warm, toasty and cosy in the winter with all my thermal gear on. Love it.

Winter is one thing, but I think you're underestimating what an ice age would be like just a wee little bit...

BTW...when does this site allow url's?

I think the magic number is 25 posts - but I could be wrong.

I think it's about 5 posts,  but 3 days...   I also could be wrong.

Either way, you'll be able to post the link before the ice age hits...

And "ice age" is grossly overstating the modest lowering of temperature seen in the late middle ages. The "little ice age" was a period of colder winters to the northern hemisphere but overall estimates are in the range of about -1 degree C, and this was apparently a local rather than global phenomenon. No massive ice sheets formed, but areas that were not used to hard winters did experience them. The link between that cooling and the observed decrease in sunspot activity (the Maunder minimum) is temporal, but I do not think it has been established that the cooling could be completely attributed to a cyclic decrease of solar radiation. Instrumentation was primitive in those days so estimates of how cold it actually got are quite variable.

I personally am more concerened about the reversing of the magnetic poles that is supposedly beginning it's next cycle.

Now THAT could fudge some crap up.

Then again I may have purchased too much stock in aluminum headgear.
