I may have them archived from my X1 days. Let me check tonight (08:03 GMT +1 here).

I have just purchased a new pc, but I had my old one for 8 years, and I am going through the laborious task of reinstalling all my software
I have installed Platinum, but like the op have no old copy of X1,  - so when running old projects there are lots of plugins missing
Beatscape lp64 r-mix etc
I've sent a msg to helpdesk asking if there any chance of downloading X1
But it would be nice if we could get access to the dropped plugs we purchased

Please let us know if anyone gets the X1 downloads restored to their Cakewalk account.  I am sure it used to be there...

Should be in the 'my products' section. Click on X1 and a subpage should open. If I recall correctly from memory then there is a link for Beatscape1 & Beatscape2 which is the Synth+content.

Btw: Is that an S5 or S5Neo? & how'd you get the SI-Strings on there :)?

Hey M@ it's a Galaxy Amp Prime 2 (J3?) did some hacks to make CakeWalk Strings VST to run natively on SnapDragon Processor...pretty awesome...very low latency. -S

Only X2 and onwards is available for download.

Now I'm not 100% sure but I think X1 was the last version where you had to buy the discs but you could download if you wanted to. I have backups of all my Cakewalk software and have the installers downloaded in my archives but I have to retrieve a disc to check. I'll do that in the next day or so.

The 8.5 upgrade was the first version offered as a download, however; the download was not a complete version. The upgrade required 8.0 (only available on DVD) be installed prior to applying the 8.5 upgrade. The complete version of 8.5 was available on DVD too. This was the last set of disks I purchased.

X1 was the first full version/upgrade available as download. The physical media was optional. I never bought the box opting instead for the download.

X2 was the last version with physical media.

If Cakewalk chooses to remove downloads from user accounts, they should provide written notice of the plan with a time frame so users can take steps to protect their purchases.

That misses the point. I could not care less about individual cases. It is a matter of how Cakewalk chooses to treat user accounts. I hope Mike was not providing information supplied to him by Cakewalk. We should not have to find out about changes to user accounts this way.

Good news

Cakewalk have restored the X1 version on my products page
so I am downloading now
Check your products pages, to see if they have made X1 available to All
If not I would drop them an email, and hopefully they will do the same
