old news.. thank the owner of camel for doing it to the users as well.

and yep second time apple has bought out something and mucked up pc owners = only apple I own is an apple //e

When Logic went mac only I went to Sonar 1. Kind of a silver lining. He here's hoping that Apple will support the VST version for you guys.

.....but, but, but, we still have Alchemy 1.5.......and it WORKS!! :)

Has anyone tried to reinstall or install on another system?

VV, I haven't done it yet (haven't had a need to), but if you have the Camel installer software, there's an offline option to do so.
I also made backups of all my Camel stuff (in case I may need to re-install).

I think it's a question of the license server. Is it still running? If you want to install on a new machine, change the HD on your system, change the OS or something, will you be able to do that?

I remember reading somewhere that your license is actually imbedded in Camel's data files.

So, to install this on a new PC, you can try copying all of Camel's data files on a USB drive and paste them on the new HD/Samples Drive while installing the Alchemy VST in the correct VST folder. This way, you can avoid using Camel's (offline) installer altogether.

Wouldn't you just install then apply the license file - I think its a .aky file?

A license is only valid if you agree to EULA, if you hack it so you bypass the EULA (missing out the agreement option)  I don't you have satisfied the terms and conditions therefore you are not licensed.

Alchemy is a pretty appropriate name for this product.

I haven't done a 2nd install, so I can't confirm.......BUT, a poster over at KVR had done the process I described above (on both his PC & Mac) and said it worked.

cool, hope it does!

Another question - any idea the lowest specification Mac you can run Logic on.
I have an old but almost totally unused Mac G5 (think its the powerMac) - Original OS, think its 9 or possibly 10, but I do know I have never updated.
I purchased it in 2005 to run  specific Mac only software for a project I was involved with, which as it turns out only lasted a short while.
So it sits in my studio, looking cool,  dude, but doing nothing!!

That's good news, thanks for posting. There are different schemes for generating the license key and I have no idea what camel audio used.

The license is built into your installer.  I installed it with no problem a few weeks ago.

The DAW competition got bigger for Mac since they bought Logic.  Sonar is one of the few left that is PC only.
