I recall this thread. Can't remember what I posted earlier but the Indie kit is pretty flexible and well recorded.
It's not what I'd normally use (metal/rock/punk/weirdo proggy stuff) but it definitely sounds like a bunch of more modern commercial stuff and has a wide range (I actually think it will work nicely for some country stuff or vintage sounding 50's moldy oldies type tunes and maybe trip hop/Portishead sounds).
I mostly use the Metal and Fairfax kits for my stuff but definitely have plans for the Indie kit.
Actually I think the Fairfax 2 kit (if that's the older model drumkit) types sounds could be easily replaced by the Indie kit but not necessarily vice versa. Check the samples in the main AD2 page to see what you think but they don't tell the whole story by any means.
AFAIK the Black Velvet is pretty much the same as the one that we got with AD1 (but maybe updated?). I have both AD1 and 2 installed (and BFD Eco) so I figured I'd go with sounds that were more drastically different than what I already have.
I also have the Andy John's Session Drummer 3 kit (ultra tight/punchy blues/rock kit) and Rock legends for both Session Drummer 3 and BFD Eco (nice 70's sound rock kit... sounds good for old school punk).
Essentially my philosophy is to choose sounds I like but try not to double on similar sounds even if it means fiddling around a bit more with different samplers/versions and/or tweaking things a bit to acheive what I'd get from a SLIGHTLY better set of samples.
Cheers.
