With a pellet gun, it wont even break the skin but maybe she will stop peeing in my yard and eating my vegetables. No, I don't kill deer. I'll shoot and eat dove and squirrel but I don't kill deer, I mean I would if I needed to but man, once you buy a license, ammo, a stand, then have the thing processed it is dang expensive meat! If society breaks down I'll eat, season or not. I have guns that will kill deer I just don't deer hunt.
So no, don't worry, just a little peck on the arse to say, "Get off my LAWN"!! LOL.

If that scene from the movie the Miracle is accurate, you just need to spread some human hair around the area and the deer will stay away.

Maybe Beepster can send you some hairballs as a starter?

I grew up in the plains of SDAK. We fished, hunted everything, so the deer thing is no big deal to me. Just diggin a little.
I don't think I could hunt deer from a stand. We hunted tree strips, a very common thing there as the glaciers screwed up the tree population. Most trees back there are planted in rows around farms to help in winter, and deer like to hang out in them.

Everybody back there is complaining about the over population of white tail deer since those big rains that dang near flooded the whole place. And the more there are, the more get killed on the Interstate in winter while looking for grass to eat.

So, here's my take. I only kill, other than rodents, etc. what I eat. The women of the plains have an addition to this meme.  You killed it, YOU clean it....

But I digress again. I may have my digression privileges revoked!

Yep.

Well, I've been at it since about 3:30 AM. I got the meat into the smoker about 3:50. Started out at 250 then backed off to 235, 225, then down to 190 for a couple of hours. I've settled on 200 and have about 7 to 8 hours left to cook, 7 if I want to rest it for 2 hours. I sure hope it get's tender.
I am not sure of the accuracy of the temperature reading on the smoker or the built in probe. The meat probe says it is at 157. I'm not going to foil it unless it gets to be noon and I'm getting nowhere.
I think I am going to use the toothpick or probe method to check for tenderness. 14 hours should be enough cooking time. Maybe at noon if it seems to be to far from done and tender I'll foil and run the temperature up to 250. That should do it I think/hope.

Also making Durgin-Park Boston Baked Beans recipe. In honor of The Bakers! They just went in for 6 hours in the oven. http://www.food.com/recipe/boston-baked-beans-in-bean-pot-durgin-park-168437

I'll check back in.

Yeah... I'm already tired and I don't nap well. I'm going to take the thing out of the ice box whenever I have to pee,

Remind me never to eat at J's house....

LOL... that does sound bad.. did I say that? I need to go back and see what I was trying to say.

I just checked and the brisket sees to be pretty tender already. I stuck it with a kabob skewer and it didn't offer much resistance at all. Now I'm worried I might get done too early instead of not done in time. I dropped back down to 190. It has stalled at 157 and that's perfect. Once it starts to rise again, I'll foil it and cook for maybe another hour (after that), then put it to rest for a couple of hours. I may have to move the beans out here so cbow can make her famous Flag Cake.
I was going to upload a picture or two but when I use the function to upload it says choose from options below but it is a blank screen. I'll put them somewhere then do a link.

Last night, unwrapped before rub...

This morning about 4:00 AM

Just now... YUM, it has a shadow on the front or something. It isn't burnt or anything but the picture looks sort of green... but it ain't. The spot is where a piece of fat came off. I trimmed from the fatty side and added some to the side with less fat.

I'm happy. It has rained non-stop and it looks like it will keep on raining into the night across N. GA. It is a nice day. It is good to try something new.

Baist on your earlier post, are you sure that's rain?
