The "charging for features" **** is making a mountain out of a molehill. The DVD playback is nothing new. The reason is that Microsoft has to purchase a license for CSS decryption and related things for each copy of Windows it includes DVD playback support in. Since few people care about it anymore, they've discontinued including it, and now charge for an addon to cover it. You can, of course, get 3rd party playback utilities, this is only relevant to making Windows Media Player handle DVDs. This started with Windows 8, since DVDs have fallen in popularity on computers. Most people just stream video.
The solitare thing, silly but who cares? It is just a game and again, you can get 3rd party games of any kind instead.
The FUD that flies around with any new version of Windows always amazes me.
