I had and sold the collection. The one synth i miss is the oberheim. If affordable i would buy that again in a heartbeat.

Wookiee
Well I like them Andy

I liked what I was hearing Wookiee, but I'm not 100% convinced about the "TAE" claims.

I'm not ditching the idea of getting any of the V stuff... I've just gone back to sitting on the fence for a bit

Recently there was a synth expo here in Melbourne for a whole day. The Arturia guy did a great demo of the V Collection 4. He produced a great track that had all of them playing at once.

They have really captured the sound of all those things. Personally I feel the V Collection 4 is amazing value considering you are getting all of them. The Matrix 12 sounds killer and so does Jupiter 8 and also the Moog Modular is quite something as well. Everything sounded very fat indeed. I have owned more than half of what is in that collection. I remember the sounds well. Arturia were right on the money.  Sonic Projects have also nailed the Oberheim sound too.

Prophet VS reincarnated itself as the Korg Wavestation. I don't think it would ever had got finished. FYI the Wavestation plugin sounds way excellent as good as or even slightly ahead of the real thing. Hard to believe I know!

I notice that Sylenth 2, in 64 bit flavour, is now available

I must be misunderstanding something, but where is Sylenth 2 ?

The sound is pretty good, but I'd prefer to own Diva & Monark to get many of those classic sounds (but of course none of those sound like a Prophet VS).

I was thinking the same thing. When I first heard their Moog modular, I thought I had found the be all end all of plugin synths. With U-he around, Arturia seems dated. Though it still has something a little special. I recently revisited the CS-80V. I can't comment whether or not it sounded like the real thing, but it did have it own Je ne sais quoi. Still, had some great sounds, just not as "hi-fi" as I would have liked.

Sorry about that... I must have misread Sylenth1 V2 as Sylenth 2

Also, the Solina V is on sale for $49 at the moment.....

EDIT: Correction....it's the Mini V (Pink Floyd's Wish you Were Here synth) that's on sale today for $49 (looks like they're having daily deals).
