These are some of the new additions coming to Sonar, for those who don't get the newsletter...

Track to Track Routing

Track-to-Track Routing opens up a new dimension of control within your home studio - allowing you to patch your synths, audio tracks, and buses to any audio track for real-time rendering. Render your virtual instruments in real time, or bounce down complex reverbs and delays.

Enhanced Start Page

Welcome to your new SONAR home.
Get started faster than ever with quick access to your latest projects and favorite templates. Never miss a beat with the latest tips and support information about SONAR.

Style Dial

Style Dial FX offer speedy, one-knob access to the most commonly used effects including a track leveler/compressor, reverb, tube warmth and more.

Improved Clip Export

A brand new export mode that allows SONAR to export split audio clips across a single track individually in one task.

The style dial sounds like a bunch of hokum to me. Who really needs it?

One knob to rule them all!!!!!!

I actually thought Sonar X1-3 could do track to track routing in some sort.

oh well, still on X3 Pro - of no concern to me.  Still havei't seen anything to make me pull the trigger and go to ..what ever it is they are calling Sonar now.

Track to Track Routing is the only thing that really interests me in that list. I wish Cake would add something like StudioOne added with Scratch Pads.

I still wish they would just concentrate their efforts on fixing the things that don't work as expected. They Know what these things are. Give your Customers what they paid for, New features that only half work should only cost half price...

I don't need a New Start Page, it is just fine the way it is. I don't believe I have ever read a complaint about the Start page not working properly. When I start Sonar I know exactly what I want, I don't want Cakewalk deciding what I want or wasting time on it...

'end of rant', maybe...

Track to track routing is a big one - lots of users requested that. Good addition.

I guess they have to put out some amount of new things during the year. That's what the whole subscription model advertises. I really don't want anything new at this point because there are still long standing bugs/quirks/workarounds, to deal with. But there are a lot of people that feel differently and like a stream of new features. I guess it's a balancing act for the bakers.

+1 I've been (sometimes too) vocal about wanting more fixes (for me in midi workflow, tempo control, notation, and touchscreen). It's a balancing act for sure as Cake tries to grow the user base. Always nice to see popular feature requests get fulfilled however, even if they're not such a big deal to me. Shows the membership model is working.
