I don't need a New Start Page, it is just fine the way it is. I don't believe I have ever read a complaint about the Start page not working properly. When I start Sonar I know exactly what I want, I don't want Cakewalk deciding what I want or wasting time on it...

'end of rant', maybe...

Well there are a number of folks in the several threads in the Sonar forums who have been complaining about the start page and are happy to see some change in it.

So, I don't think Cakewalk is just changing it to change it.  I for one will welcome the fact that you won't have to name the project to get started.  Sometimes I just want to play, you know?

Having watched this progress for the past few months, I'm of the opinion that they're doing a pretty darn good job of balancing between fixes and enhancements/features.  New features/enhancements so far have been put out in advance, but we don't see the bug fix list until release.  IMO, the fix lists have been substantial.

I'm not as skeptical as I was back in February & March.  I have never had a version of Sonar perform as well as the current version.  And that has been the case for the for last 3 or 4 versions.  A little better each release.

The real bonus is that I'm not having to wait a year for each incremental improvement

+1 Bob. The new SONAR we were offered in January was a good release even if there were only the standard amount of fixes and new features so I felt like I was not risking anything. The only real prob was the CCC, and that wasn't a "part" of SONAR.

SmokeyJ628, unnamed project has been part of SONAR since X3. It's at the top of the list.

I have to agree that, bang for buck, Sonar is MILES ahead...
I am far more then satisfied with what they have done, and what
they continue to do...

Even though the vast majority of what I do is in Pro Tools, it's only
for "industry" sake...not because I want to...

If I had my choice, I'd be Sonar only....

I was quite skeptical when first entering the Sonar frey...
and it certainly has had it's growing pains...but with every new
release there are major improvements, and with every update there
are substantial new features and fixes....that says a lot about what
they are doing to me....

Great Job Guys!  KUTGW!!!

The style dial sounds like a bunch of hokum to me. Who really needs it?

I was thinking EZ Mix ... I don't own it, never tried it, but it supposedly has the minimal knob concept.  I've heard some pretty decent mixes from folks using it.

At any rate, I'm starting to get the idea that a lot of the stuff we're seeing is foundational for something bigger to sit on top of down the road.
