i was disappointed to learn midi is not implemented in their plugin suite. Some plugs are so guitar pedal like they just beg for expression pedal assignment.

Plug and Mix does respond to 'automation' recorded in a DAW, but not directly to Midi.

So it is normal that you can not get it to work.

You can adjust the parameters in real time with a mouse and record that within Cubase.

Right, missing the midi control and would be a benefit to automate via MIDI.
 
Otherwise (only in my opinion), this is about the only suite that can spar face to face with the likes of S-Gear or HeadCase or Revalver 4.
 
There are several of the stomps that I don't have any use for, some of the eq tweeks. There are other critical stomps that escape under our radar because of their simplicity. As in how can 3 knobs compete with 100 knobs on brand X.
 
The P&M distortion units are incredible. Reverbs incredible for stomps. Echoflex is probably all I really need in a guitar echo if I can just let my mental complexity down for a few seconds.
 
P&M has some really cool stuff. Generous demos for the download, and maybe the free plug offer for a Facebook like is still active. Hard choice, but would go for the California Tone, or the American Tweed for a freebie.

Yeah.. Folks at KVR were all about Clarisonix. That's the one I got for free before popping for the bundle. The P&M Chainer enhances the bundle quite a bit. I'll have to give those distortion plugs a good workout. I'm gonna give ACT a look to see what's possible.

Forgot what even Clarisonix is, but will revisit if the KRV guys have it in the spotlight. Somebody must know what they are hearing.
 
Interested in what you think of the distortion plugs. There are several in the bundle, kinda spinoffs of each other, but enough variation to merit different stomps.
 
I got to come out of the closet as a compressor addict. Maybe there is a 12 step program somewhere. Always got to have a compressor first on the guitar, then whatever next even if hell to pay for the noise. Note that the biggest deficit, vacancy black hole in the P&M suite is a decent noise gate. Sent my feedback for what it is worth long time ago.
 
There is a good comp in the suite however. Chaining it into any of the overdrive units gives what sounds like a two phase or two level distortion.
 
One level is a clean fuzz. The second overlay is a more broken up, growling distortion.
 
Hard to find this level of realism and dirt level functionality in all but a couple other commercial softwares.

OT. In an automation lane you can right-click and select a parameter in a Plug & Mix plug. Too bad one cannot simply right-click on the automation lane to assign a midi controller to the parameter the automation lane controls. We're so close!

Clarsonix is a bass enhancer. It's worth looking into.

I followed your suggestion, had a go with "Distorted" last night. It was a pleasant surprise. I generally DI an old boss DS-1 or Chandler/BK Butler Tube Driver in for guitar. For synth distortion I use Etch's distortions or MaulSE. TSE has the best pedal distortion and drive sims out there and their free. TSE 808 and TSE R47 (Rat). My favorite distortion is N.I.s Driver just because It's so intense.

For Steve Vai type sound I use compression. A touch of Compression is kind of necessary for a Tele going into a clean amp. I'd love to hear a sample of the layered compression/distortion sound you're achieving. That's fascinating.

As for noise gates, maybe pluck down an instance of a bundled BlueTubes Gate or a Sonitus in between P&M plugs?

Right-click in the automation lane fader, select remote control and assign what you want. Here I assign the Mod Wheel to the Sub Level in Clarsonix:

About the gear, got to dive back into Leonard's rec on Sonitus noise gate. Use Nomad's Liquid Gate as a go to and didn't know the Blue series had a gate as well. Likely a good surprise if I can find it.
 
TSE plugs are excellent. Don't know if you guys know about TLS plugs.
 
Obscure gems fading into the forgotten past, 32 bit only. Limiters and saturators that haven't been updated for years but still there as freebies in the DOS tree type folder links. Too bad these were not developed further. There was nothing better when they first tried to surface.
