Great song Herb, Love that instrumentation, tremolo picking during solo was sweet. Great lyrics that I can relate to. Pittsburg steel and Detroit power. I worked for many years at the last of the big Pitt steel plants once called Wheeling-Pittsburg steel; it’s now being dismantled and sold for scrap.  You have a way of writing tunes that I can relate too. Great tune here.

Daryl, Alkie, and Grant....  thanks....The "tremelo picking" is a mandolin which I am attempting to learn how to play.....   I was thinking about the guys who used to hang out back in the day who had those 1960's era muscle cars..... with the oversized tires and engines.....air shocks jacking up the back ends..... sweet paint and glass pack mufflers......

Thanks

Hey Herb,
This sounds nice. The mando part fits just right.
How did you clone yourself to sing all those parts?

"All parts are me playing and singing....  piano and B3 are not me."

Hey, Herb,

Excellent song with great songwriting and performances with a nice fusion of traditional Country and Americana!

The lyrics and vocals are great, I like how the acoustic solos blend nicely with the mandolin, and the mix sounds fantastic.

Really nice work, buddy!

Scotty and Bob.... thanks for listening...

Bob, I really like this genre.... unfortunately it's not very popular these days..... but I still love it.

Herb,

Thought I’d replied already - this is what happens when I listen at work.  I like this genre , it can come across as hokey at times  but more often than not I find it comforting (especially when it leans towards the Americana side of the tracks).  Good stuff all around  - lyrics, music and performances are all on the money. You’ve got the kind of voice that makes me “trust” you. Not sure why.  This is some form of compliment (a poorly worded one?) and your voice is perfect for this type of song. A+

Hi Herb-

Really well done-- the whole thing. Lyrically was great, and the arrangement and mix were spot-on.
