oop's, Mesh, I do FULL images, that is why I only keep 4.

If you're doing incremental things will probably be different for you. May not want to delete until you're sure...!!!

Beagle
^ exactly!

Good to know......I still haven't changed anything yet.

Is it better to do a FULL rather than incremental.......and just keep the last 3-4 backups?
What are the good/bad to look out for?

it's all relative to what you want.  incrementals will need a full backup to be restored, but they save more space on your hard drive that way.  3 full backups will take up a lot more room than 1 full and 10 incrementals (normally).

I have plenty of space on my 3TB HD, so that's not a problem in doing a full backup.

In a worst case scenario, is this the preferred method?

Incremental backups are basically quicker than full backups.
If you want to delete backups try and do it through the Acronis user interface (less agro later).

Thanks Doc.
Glad you said that as I was just going to dump them in the trash.

I agree, don't just dump incremental backups, it might be OK, but there's less chance of a problem if you do it through the Acronis interface.

Sorry Mesh, I almost threw you over a cliff there. Thanks for Helping out in Guys!

I do Full backups because my system disk only takes about 45min to backup and verify. It is a routine I have gotten myself into and I feel comfortable with the way it works.

Kind regards,
Rick

No worries at all Rick.....no harm, no foul.

Before jumping into anything, I always check here with you guys as well research it online so I don't accidentally blow up my PC.

I'm also inclined to do the full backup and will start that this weekend.
Thanks everyone for the input.

Restoring from incremental backups can be a real PITA. If one image has a problem you will hate life.
Been there, done that.
With cheap storage, there is no benefit to having 10 incremental backups (except for time). I have backed up and restored many images over the years. I've learned to use only full images.
I have one full image of my machine that is a factory default, before any software was installed. I then keep the latest 3 full images.
Just my OCD  $.02

Thanks John!! That's what I was looking to find out.....how easy is it to restore/issues with restoring when it goes kaput.

Your OCD $.02 is totally worth my $2000 PTSD!!
