I don't know how I missed this the first time around, but I'm sure glad Tim bumped it! What a sweet, sweet song! Jimmy, your performance is compelling, and your vocal is perfect for this piece. Kudos to both you and Janet!

From the looks of the web site you have been busy!  Nice stuff there. I like the vocals on The Clown Cries.  Sounds Like Carolyn Arends (a LOT!).  Awesome job with the mix on this too.

Oh the new one sounds good too.  I like others like the harmonies.  Very nicely placed in the mix!

Thanks Terry.  I really like Jimmy's voice...you've missed some other great songs of his. :-)   That's not me on the piano, either.  He did it all.  Way better than I did too.  :-)

Thanks Phil.  Ideas for lyrics come to me so seldom or I'd write more.  Well, if I could sing, it would give me a lot more incentive to write too.  On the other hand, almost all my instrumentals are inspired by at least one line.  I just rarely take them any farther than that line. :-)

Thanks Gary.  I'm real tickled Jimmy did this for me.  It was real special of him to do it.  :-)

Thank you, Pat, and welcome to the forum!  Yeah, I've been going for quality and not quantity, although I do the best I can so far.  lol  Thanks for the kudos on 'The Clown Cries,' too. That's my singer-song-writer friend Callista.  I'll tell her you like it.  I'm sad she moved away, but she's still writing I hear.

What you said, Robby.
This so totally fits what I am feeling right now.

It's really a beautiful song Janet... And to hear Jimmy sing it? And reflect on his untimely death... It's a little chilling.

I mean the words? You didn't write this for or about Jimmy? But he sang it, and the way he sang it? It's almost as if he knew :-(

A young man in a wheelchair, no feeling in his limbs, taking what life's dealt him, with his silly grins?
he's looking to that final day, when he can be made new?
And he can run and play...

"Wants to be with his family, providing for their needs."

"Now he is living for that glorious day.
Cause he was born to run, born to fly.
Born to be free, like the wind in the trees.
When the savoir comes to take him home, he will be free, like he was meant to be...

"When the savoir comes to take us home, we will be free, like we were meant to be..."

I mean? It's like you wrote it for him, not knowing what was to happen :-( It's really very very touching hearing him sing it now. I've listened several times, it's very powerful.

I've been thinking about this song since I heard of his passing.  I'm still amazed that you remembered it...it's been awhile.  I suppose it has sort of universal application, which is what makes you think it's powerful.  And what's more odd is that these things come to me so seldom, unlike some of you who write so prolificly.  Thanks again Robby.  I sure can't listen to it now or I'd be a mess.  I will listen again some day.

Let me just say this; I love this song, the euphonics, the top-shelf lyrics, Jimmy's perfect and sweet vibe.  God bless you and keep you.

This is my fav of yours and Jimmy's!

Edit:

Regarding the prophecy validated per Robby; I think its perfectly obvious some gospel magic must precede Jimmy's parting.  If you (Janet) hadn't penned this, God would have inspired another; congrats for steeling the blessing.

The fact is, Jimmy's songs have consistently been euphonic ... with unrequited love and salvation, thus giving immense honor to God.  God would surely validate his parting.
